Tip: TextMate Go to Line

Posted by anthony crumley, Mon Oct 29 06:59:00 UTC 2007

Go to Line is a very simple, yet effective, means of moving the cursor in a text document. Press apple-L and a dialog will appear with a text box for entering the line number. Enter the number and press return to jump to a specific line of text in a document. The major problem with Go to Line is not knowing the line number you want to jump to. Line numbers can be turned on and off in the gutter by pressing option-apple-L. This command is a very efficient way of moving to a line you can see on the screen but it would take a while to get there with the arrow keys.
